Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

• A recognised university degree in a relevant field. A postgraduate qualification in management, leadership, security, defence, education, or a related discipline is an advantage.
• At least 20 years of professional experience in defence, security, humanitarian mine action, or explosive risk mitigation.
• At least 10 years of commissioned military, senior non-commissioned, or equivalent government security leadership experience.
• Formal qualifications and proven operational experience in Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD).
• Qualifications and operational experience in Improvised Explosive Device Disposal (IEDD) and Counter-IED (C-IED).
• At least 10 years of experience in humanitarian mine action, explosive risk mitigation, or post-conflict recovery.
• Experience establishing or leading international organisations, programmes, or institutional development initiatives.
• A recognised management, senior command, or executive leadership qualification.
• A recognised teaching qualification with experience in curriculum development, programme delivery, and quality assurance.
• Experience developing governance frameworks, policies, procedures, and quality management systems.
• Proven expertise in strategic planning, programme management, partnerships, and resource mobilisation.
• Experience working with governments, the United Nations, development partners, and international donors.
• Excellent English communication skills with experience preparing strategic and executive reports.

• Provide strategic leadership and executive management of GERMA.
• Lead implementation of the GERMA Strategic Plan.
• Establish and maintain effective governance, management and quality assurance systems.
• Develop strategic partnerships with governments, United Nations agencies, academic institutions, regional organisations and the private sector.
• Lead organisational resource mobilisation and institutional sustainability initiatives.
• Direct the development of professional education programmes, applied research and innovation.
• Promote national ownership through mentoring, leadership development and institutional capacity building.
• Represent GERMA at national, regional and international level.
