This course develops immediate casualty care, trauma response and first aid knowledge for personnel operating in high-risk environments where explosive threats, security incidents, remote operations or delayed medical evacuation may occur.

This course is suitable for first responders, security personnel, field staff, HMA personnel, police, border security, emergency services and personnel who may need to provide immediate care before professional medical support arrives.

• Scene safety and casualty response priorities.
• Primary survey and immediate life-saving actions.
• Massive bleeding control, wound management airway, breathing and shock considerations.
• Blast injury, burns and penetrating trauma awareness.
• Fracture, crush injury and environmental exposure considerations.
• Casualty movement, packaging, handover, CASEVAC / MEDEVAC awareness and evacuation planning.
• First aid kit, trauma kit and equipment familiarisation.
• Practical casualty scenarios and response drills.

Delivery may include classroom instruction, practical demonstrations, hands-on casualty care drills, trauma scenarios, casualty movement exercises, equipment familiarisation, table-top evacuation planning and supervised practical assessment.

Participants should be physically able to take part in practical casualty care training. Entry requirements will be confirmed with the client and may consider participant role, operating environment, language ability, medical fitness and intended level of responsibility.

On completion, participants should be able to apply immediate casualty care principles, support trauma response, use basic casualty care equipment, communicate casualty information and contribute to safe evacuation within their role and organisational procedures.

This course may be adapted for field teams, training centres, HMA operations, security teams, first responders, remote project sites, commercial operations or emergency services.
