Why this course exists
Purpose
This course develops police IEDD operator capability for personnel required to respond to improvised explosive device threats within defined legal, organisational and procedural authority.

Target Audience
This course is suitable for selected police, law enforcement, border security or authorised government personnel who require specialist IEDD operator training. Participants should be nominated by their organisation and meet agreed entry standards.

Course Overview
The course introduces the knowledge, procedures and practical skills required to support IEDD operations in law enforcement and government security contexts. It focuses on operator-level IEDD response, task organisation, threat assessment, incident control, cordon management, evidence awareness, reporting and safe procedural discipline. The course is designed to develop a controlled police IEDD capability within the authority, equipment, SOPs and legal framework of the client organisation.

How it is delivered
Delivery Format

Prerequisites
Entry Requirements
Participants should be selected and authorised by their organisation. Entry requirements will normally consider previous EOD, IEDD, search, police, military, security or technical operational experience, language ability, physical suitability and medical fitness for practical training.
On completion
Expected Outcome
On completion, participants should be able to perform defined police IEDD operator functions within approved procedures, organisational authority, legal requirements and agreed equipment limitations.
