Purpose
This course develops the knowledge and practical awareness required to support safe post-blast scene management, evidence preservation, reporting and investigative support following explosive incidents.

Target Audience
This course is suitable for police investigators, law enforcement personnel, IEDD support staff, forensic support personnel, border security personnel, incident commanders and authorised government personnel involved in explosive incident response or investigation.
What is covered
Course Overview
Post-blast scenes are complex, hazardous and time sensitive. This course introduces participants to scene safety, cordon control, evidence awareness, scene preservation, photography, recording, reporting and coordination with IEDD, forensic and investigative personnel. The course does not replace specialist forensic qualification, but supports personnel who may be required to protect, manage or support a post-blast scene during the early stages of an investigation.

Prerequisites
Entry Requirements
Participants should have a role linked to police investigation, incident response, IEDD support, forensic support, border security or law enforcement operations. Entry requirements will be confirmed with the client.
On completion
Expected Outcome
On completion, participants should be able to support safe post-blast scene management, preserve potential evidence, record key information and assist investigative processes within approved procedures.
