Purpose
This course develops the knowledge, practical skills and safety awareness required for personnel working as part of IMAS-aligned EOD Level 2 multi-task teams in support of HMA operations.

Target Audience This course is suitable for individuals wishing to undertake demining, BAC and EOD clearance operations working within approved HMA structures, and organisations developing multi-task team capabilities.
Overview The course provides a practical foundation for personnel required to identify, assess, report and respond to conventional explosive ordnance within defined EOD Level 2 limits. It supports safe field activity in contaminated environments and reinforces the importance of approved procedures, role, discipline, reporting, marking, supervision and quality management. The course is designed for multi-task team application, where personnel may be required to support demining, battle area clearance and spot task activity within the limits of national authority approval, organisational SOPs and operational authorisation.

Indicative Learning Areas
- EOD principles and operating context.
- IMAS-aligned EOD Level 2 role, responsibilities and limitations.
- Explosive ordnance recognition and categorisation.
- Demining, BAC and spot task support.
- Safety, risk reduction and personal protective measures.
- Marking, recording and reporting.
- Basic disposal considerations within authorised scope.
- Team coordination, supervision and quality control.
- Practical field exercises and supervised assessment.
How it is delivered
Delivery Format
Delivery may include pre-course learning, classroom instruction, practical demonstrations, field training lanes, scenario-based exercises, supervised practical tasks and formative and summative assessment.
Prerequisites
Entry Requirements
Entry requirements will be confirmed with the client and will normally consider participant language ability, physical suitability and medical fitness for field-based training and practical exercises. No previous EOD qualification is required for entry onto this course.
On completion
Expected Outcome
On completion, participants should be able to support the planning, supervision and oversight of field EOD and clearance activities within approved HMA procedures, national authority requirements and organisational accreditation.
